Counselor Xu Min Visits the State of West Virginia

Meeting with Governor Earl Ray Tomblin

From May 26th to 27th of 2016, Counselor Xu Min and First Secretary Jia Xi of the Chinese Embassy paid a visit to Charleston of the State of West Virginia and met with Governor Earl Ray Tomblin, Lt. Governor and President of the Senate William P. Cole III, Secretary of State Natalie E. Tennant, and leading members of the House and the Senate of West Virginia. They had in-depth discussions on expanding exchanges and cooperation between China and West Virginia.

Governor Tomblin and other West Virginian officials are very glad to see that the exchanges and cooperation between West Virginia and China have been constantly strengthened since the establishment of sister state/province relationship between West Virginia and Shanxi Province of China in June, 2015. Governor Tomblin said that, as a leader in energy industry, clean coal and renewable energy in particular, as well as a major tourist attraction, West Virginia looks forward to further expanding cooperation with China. Counselor Xu appreciated the great efforts made by the state government in promoting exchanges and cooperation with China, and stressed that the Chinese embassy is always ready to facilitate more mutually beneficial cooperations between China and West Virginia.
