Counselor Zheng Zhenhua Attended the Closing Ceremony
of China-US Joint Training Program for Afghan Diplomats

The closing ceremony of the US session of China-US joint training program for Afghan Diplomats was held at the US State Department on October 2, 2017. On behalf of Chinese Embassy, Counselor Zheng Zhenhua attended the ceremony and made remarks. US Deputy Assistant Secretary from the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs of the State Department Daniel Rosenblum, Political Counselor of the Embassy of Afghanistan in the United States Abdul Nafay Sana and the Afghan diplomats under training were present.

 

Counselor Zheng conveyed Ambassador Cui Tiankai's congratulations on the success of the training program and said this training program, with our joint efforts, is our down-to-earth endeavor to support the peace and reconstruction of Afghanistan. The program is also a good example of China-US cooperation on a third country. It shows the common vision and shared responsibility of China and the US to world peace and prosperity. China is willing to enhance coordination and cooperation with the US and play a constructive role for the realization of unity, stability and prosperity in Afghanistan.

 

Deputy Assistant Secretary Rosenblum spoke highly of US-China cooperation on the Afghanistan issue and said the two countries have successfully organized joint training program for Afghan diplomats for several consecutive years which had played important role in enhancing mutual understanding and friendship among the three countries. Counselor Sana thanked China and the US for their support and said the cooperation among China, the US and Afghanistan plays a significant role in promoting peace and stability in the region and looked forward to enhancing cooperation in the future.
