China host international conference on world economy (10/16/03)

The World Economic Development Declaration (WEDD) Conference is scheduled to be held on Nov. 6 and 7 in Zhuhai City, in south China's Guangdong Province.

A declaration on world economic development (the Zhuhai Declaration), jointly drafted by Nobel laureates and Chinese economists, would be released at the conference, said a source with the organizers.

The Zhuhai Declaration would stress the interdependence of world economies, the important role of science and technology and sustainable development.

Chinese and foreign leaders, representatives from international organizations, Nobel Prize winners and presidents of transnational companies will address the conference.
