Spokesman of the Chinese Embassy in the U.S. Wang Baodong Responds to a Question by The Wall Street Journal regarding Contaminated Heparin in 2008
2010/07/22

Question:

According to U.S. government documents, the SDFA has not investigated the source of the contaminated heparin in 2008, and the Chinese government did not cooperate much with the FDA. What's your comment on that?

Coments:

As I understand, the company that produced heparin in China is an American company and the heparin product is completely for exporting to the U.S., so it's up to the relevant U.S. agencies to supervise and regulate. In the aftermath of the reported medical cases, the Chinese side took serious attitude toward the situation, did what it needed to do and provided full cooperation to the U.S. side regarding its investigation.
