Minister Xu Xueyuan attends the Lunar New Year reception of the US-Asia Institute

On February 11, Minister Xu Xueyuan attended and delivered a speech at the Lunar New Year 2019 reception held by the the US-Asia Institute in the Rayburn House Office Building of the United States Congress.


On behalf of Ambassador Cui Tiankai, Minister Xu first thanked the US-Asia Institute for its long-standing contribution to promoting exchange, understanding and cooperation between China and the United States, and wished all the participants a happy New Year. She said that this year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States. In the new year, China is ready to work with the United States to promote the bilateral relations along the right track of healthy and stable development to bring well-being to the people of both countries and the world.

U.S. Congresswoman Judy Chu and other members of U.S. congress, Acting Deputy Undersecretary of the Commerce Ms Sarah Kemp, Ambassadors and embassy representatives from Brunei, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore and other countries to the U.S. , U.S. Congressional Staffs, totaling more than 100 people, attended the reception.
