You may find China’s big market and business potential promising and wish to invest and do business there. You may wonder how China-U.S. relations, as the most consequential bilateral relationship in the world, could affect you and your friends. Or, maybe, as a world citizen, you are interested in how China and the United States can work with each other on the global agenda of peace and development for the good of the two countries and the world. Here at this website, my colleagues and I wish to engage with you on all these subjects and beyond, to interact and to share.

    China and the United States are both great countries. The Chinese and Americans are both great peoples. In the past four decades since the establishment of diplomatic ties, China-U.S. relations have kept moving forward despite wind and rain, and brought peace, cooperation and prosperity to the two countries and the world.

    Facing profound changes in the world, in our times, and in historical trajectory, China and the United States have a pressing task to find the right way to get along with each other in the new era. This is also what the international community expects from us. To this end, President Xi Jinping put forward the three principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation. This should be the basis for our two countries to work with each other to bring the bilateral relationship back to a healthy and stable track, and do more to enhance the well-being of the two countries and promote world stability and development.

    The Chinese Embassy in the U.S. hopes to be a window for you to learn more about China, a bridge for China-U.S. communication and exchanges, and a platform for dialogue and cooperation.
