Chinese president delivers address to G20 summit (09/25/09)

PITTSBURGH, the United States, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao delivered an address to the Pittsburgh summit of the Group of 20 to outline China's stand on promoting the world economic recovery, reforming the international financial system, and achieving balanced and sustainable growth.

Earlier in the day, leaders of the Group of 20 (G20) started the summit to discuss actions to promote a recovery from the world economic and financial crisis.

The Pittsburgh Summit is the third of its kind following the previous two gatherings in Washington last November and in London in April this year in the aftermath of a severe financial crisis and economic downturn around the globe.
