Chinese Embassy: Donations to help the earthquake victims in Yushu Qinghai Province

In recent days, many American people have been following the devastating earthquake that struck Yushu, Qinghai Province, and have extended their condolences, sympathy and support in various forms. We deeply appreciate this. Many American people and the Chinese communities and Chinese students in the United States are also asking for further information on the latest situation on the ground, progress in the rescue and relief efforts, the most needed relief supplies and the channels through which they could provide such assistance and make donations for the affected people in China.

According to the information we have got from the quake-hit region, the high altitude, rugged terrain and the freezing and volatile weather have made rescue work on the ground more difficult.
