Xi Jinping Sends Message of Sympathy to Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih

On January 27, 2022, President Xi Jinping sent a message of sympathy to Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih over his infection with COVID-19.

Xi Jinping said, learning about your infection with COVID-19, I would like to extend my sincere sympathy to you and wish you a speedy recovery. China and Maldives have helped each other to overcome difficulties together since the outbreak of COVID-19. China will continue to firmly support the Maldives in its fight against the pandemic. I attach great importance to the development of China-Maldives relations and stand ready to work with President Solih to drive bilateral relations steadily forward for the benefit of the two countries and the two peoples.
