Assistant Foreign Minister Zhang Kunsheng Attends the Fifth Foreign Ministers' Meeting of the Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation in Argentina

From August 24 to 25, 2011, Assistant Foreign Minister Zhang Kunsheng led a delegation to Buenos Aires, Argentina to attend the fifth Foreign Ministers' Meeting of the Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation. Zhang delivered a keynote speech to the meeting titled Deepening East Asia-Latin America Cooperation for a Better Future. He pointed out that East Asia and Latin America face new opportunities of cooperation. Countries in the two regions should deepen cooperation comprehensively in order to promote their economic growth and social stability and raise their influences in the world. China believes countries be committed to mutually beneficial cooperation to boost the sustainable and stable growth of the world economy, insists on giving top priority to the demands of the people while actively pushing forward the international development cooperation, upholds equality and inclusiveness and calls for joint efforts to maintain world peace and stability.

   
   

During the meeting, Zhang met with the Argentine and Brazilian foreign ministers and the Cuban deputy foreign minister respectively and held brief talks with the foreign ministers of Venezuela and Uruguay, the acting foreign minister of Costa Rica and Mexico's deputy foreign minister.
