South Sudan President to visit China

BEIJING, April 16 (Xinhua) -- At the invitation of Chinese President Hu Jintao, South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit will pay a state visit to China from April 23 to 28, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Weimin announced at a regular press conference Monday.

During Kiir's visit, the two sides will discuss how to further increase political mutual trust, expand bilateral pragmatic cooperation in various fields, and exchange views on the regional and international issues of common concern, Liu said.

China established its diplomatic relationship with South Sudan on July 9, 2011.
