Chinese President Jiang Zemin left here on Oct. 25
for Mexico to attend the informal summit meeting of the
Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) following his
four-day working visit to the United States.
During his stay, Jiang and President
George W. Bush held talks in the latter's ranch in
Crawford, Texas, on promotion of bilateral ties. The two
leaders had an in-depth exchange of views on international
and regional issues of common concern and reached
a consensus on those issues that will help move forward the
constructive and cooperative relationship between China and
the United States.
During the visit, Jiang also toured the Johnson Space Center
in Houston and delivered a speech at the George Bush
Presidential Library in Texas A and M University on
