Chinese President Jiang Zemin returned to Beijing on the afternoon of Oct. 29 by special plane after paying a working visit to the United States and attending the 10th Informal Leaders' Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation in Los Cabos, Mexico.

  Those who greeted Jiang at the Great Hall of the People included Premier Zhu Rongji, Vice-President Hu Jintao, Vice-Chairman of the Central Military Commission Zhang Wannian, Member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of China Central

Committee Zeng Qinghong, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhou Guangzhao, Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Chen Jinhua.

  Jiang's wife Wang Yeping and Vice-Premier Qian Qichen were among those who accompanied Jiang back by the same plane.
