At the invitation of President Jiang Zemin of
the People's Republic of China, President William Clinton of
the United States of America will pay a state visit to China
From June 25 to July 3, 1998.
This was
announced by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhu Bangzao
in Beijing on June 4 at a regular press conference.
President Jiang Zemin will exchange views in
an extensive and in-depth manner with President Clinton on
China-U.S. relations and international issues of common
concern, Zhu said.
Apart from Beijing,
President Clinton will also visit such Chinese cities as
Xi'an, Shanghai and Guilin and the Hong Kong Special
Administrative Region.
