Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji said in Washington
DC on April 8 that the friendship between China and the
United States could not be undermined by anybody and their
problems could be resolved through friendly consultations.
Zhu, who is paying an eight-day official visit
to the United States, made the remarks at the welcoming
ceremony on the South Lawn at the White House.
The Chinese Premier said that the friendship
between China and the United States is based on the three
China-U.S. Joint Communiques and the Joint China-U.S.
Statement as well as solemn commitments made by the two
countries to each other.
"I don't think
there is any problem or question between our two countries
that cannot be resolved through friendly
consultations," Zhu stressed.
He said
that the two countries might have some disagreements or
differences, but only friends who can discuss and resolve
their differences are good friends.
