Ambassador Cui Tiankai and Wife Attended the Ground-breaking Ceremony of the Ruth Mulan Chu Chao Center At Harvard Business School

On April 24, Ambassador Cui Tiankai and wife attended the ground-breaking ceremony of the Ruth Mulan Chu Chao Center at Harvard Business School. In his remarks, Ambassador Cui offered congratulations on the start of construction of the Ruth Mulan Chu Chao Center and spoke positively on the contributions Ruth Mulan Chu Chao and her family made to the promotion of education and cultural exchanges between China and the US. Ambassador Cui said that the foundation for state-to-state relations lies in people-to-people friendship. I hope that after its completion the Center will play a positive role in promoting the friendship between the Chinese and the American people.

The Ruth Mulan Chu Chao Center is the first building at Harvard University named after a female as well as the first one named after a Chinese-American. It is donated by the Chairman of the Foremost Group James S.C. Chao and family. President Foster of the Harvard University, Dean Nohria of the Hard Business School, Senator Markey of Massachusetts and former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd attended the ceremony.
