The Fourth China-US Strategic and Security Dialogue Held in Beijing

On July 8, 2014, the fourth China-US Strategic and Security Dialogue was held in Beijing under the framework of the sixth China-US Strategic and Economic Dialogue (SED). Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui and Deputy Secretary of State William Joseph Burns of the US co-chaired the Dialogue. Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Wang Guanzhong, H.E. Cui Tiankai, Chinese Ambassador to the US, Deputy Secretary of Defense Robert O. Work of the US, US Ambassador to China Max Baucus and others were present at the Dialogue. Both sides had in-depth exchanges of views on issues concerning strategic security and comprehensive security of common concern in a candid, practical and constructive atmosphere, and deepened mutual understanding. Both sides agreed to join efforts to well maintain and develop the mechanism of China-US Strategic and Security Dialogue and to further enhance mutual trust and cooperation.
