BEIJING, April 28 (Xinhua) -- Honorary Chairman of the Chinese Nationalist Party, or Kuomintang (KMT), Lien Chan arrived here on Monday in advance of an Olympics-related ceremony on Tuesday.

    The ceremony, to be held in the Olympic Park in the northern part of the Chinese capital, will mark the installation of a sculpture based upon an original masterpiece by a Taiwan artist.

    KMT Vice Chairman Lin Feng-cheng and Lien Fang-yu, wife of the Honorary Chairman, arrived on the same flight, accompanying Lien Chan.

    The visiting KMT group paid a quick visit to the new T3 terminal at the Beijing Capital International Airport, where mainland officials, led by Chen Yunlin, Director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, held a reception.
