Wang Yi: China and Africa Will Join Hands to Realize Their Dreams

On September 23, 2013, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at the Third Round of Political Consultations between Chinese and African Foreign Ministers on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly that China and Africa will join hands to realize their dreams.

Wang Yi said that China and Africa have always been a community of common destiny. China cannot develop in isolation of Africa while Africa's development also needs China. Currently, 1.3 billion Chinese people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, are working hard to realize the Chinese dream of achieving the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Realizing the Chinese dream relies fundamentally on the hard work of the Chinese people, but it also requires the understanding and support of the people around the world. Since the new century, Africa has grown from a "forgotten corner" in the globalization into a "continent of hope" and a "fertile land for development". More than one billion people in Africa are working to realize the African dream of achieving self-reliance, development and revitalization through unity. China is and will always be a reliable friend and sincere partner for Africa. China will strengthen cooperation with African friends and join hands with Africa to realize the Chinese and African dreams. While improving the well-being of both peoples, China and Africa aim to make greater contributions to the global dream of achieving lasting peace and common prosperity.
