In the past few days, China and US have conducted several rounds of diplomatic consultation on handling the air incident, which the US surveillance plane bumped into the Chinese jet causing the pilot missing, entered China’s territorial airspace and landed at the Chinese airport without permission. The Chinese side reaffirms in the consultations that the responsibility fully lies with the US side and the US must apologize to the Chinese people and adopt practical and effective measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents. Prueher, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the US Government and Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, who is responsible for handling the incident, expressed that the US side wants to work earnestly with the Chinese side for a proper settlement to this incident at an early date.
