Minister Counselor Cen Jianjun Meets with American Friends

Minister Counselor Cen Jianjun of Education Office met with Julia Bloch Chang, President of US-China Education Trust, former US Ambassador to Nepal, Walter Douglas, Deputy Assistant Secretary of U.S. State Department, Henry Levine, Senior Director of Albright Stonebridge Group, former Consul General in Shanghai Consulate General and Susan Lawrance, Specialist in Asian Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Defense and Trade Division on April 6, 2016. The two parties exchanged views on educational exchanges and other issues of common interest.

Minister Counselor Cen briefed on the latest development of China-US people to people exchange and educational exchanges. He also shared stories and thoughts on the past collaborations between Chinese and US parties. He stressed that, the expansion of educational exchanges between the two countries, the growth of students studying abroad in each other’s countries and the increasing interest of American people in Chinese language learning, had laid a deep foundation to enhance mutual understanding and trust between the two peoples and would be very much conducive in building of a sustainable, healthy and stable bilateral relations.

Ambassador Chang introduced the programs carried out by her trust foundation and expressed her interest in making positive contributions to China-US people to people exchanges. Mr. Douglas, Mr. Levine and Ms. Lawrance also shared their views on Chinese-US relations, business and personnel exchanges.
