"Chinese Bridge" Competition Winners

Education Office of the Chinese Embassy hosts reception for this year's“Chinese Bridge" Competition Winners on April 16th, 2016. More than 60 people, including winners , their parents and teachers attended, telling Chinese stories, sharing experiences,tasting Chinese food and sharing views on the fruits of China-US educational and cultural exchanges.


Minister Counselor Cen Jianjun delivered a warm and friendly speech. He told the story of American merchant ship " Empress of China" coming a long way to China in 1784 and Chinese Immortals of Harmony and Union. He expressed that the exchanges and goodwill between our two peoples are crucial to bilateral relations and encouraged American students to learn Chinese language, appreciate Chinese culture and bridge China-US friendship.


The winners also made remarks in Chinese to share their experiences. Some of them performed the tea art with long-mouthed teapot and sang songs composed by themselves. Chinese students from Georgetown University and William & Mary College performed Chinese musical instruments, adding joy and delight to the event.
